A two-year-old girl was injured after running into the road and being hit by a pickup truck in Grant City Saturday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the motorist had stopped at a stop sign, and was then turning left onto 6th Street from Pleasant Street at about 10:35 a.m. when the child ran into the street.

The young girl was identified as two-year-old Ridley Ware of Grant City. She was taken by private vehicle to SSM Health St. Francis in Maryville for treatment.
