The Smithville Police Department, Monday released photos of a truck used in the possible impersonation of an officer earlier this month.
Det. Kathryn Ford with the police dept. said they still have not identified the driver or owner of the vehicle described as a 2014/15 GMC Sierra, Silver 4-door short bed.
Previously, police said they are trying to identify a man who allegedly used red and blue lights to pull a woman over a woman on April 16.
The dept. said a woman reported she was stopped by a man in a truck with red and blue lights under the grill. The stop took place on 169 Hwy, south of DD Hwy (Main St.).
The woman was confronted by a white man described to be around 50 to 60 years of age, medium built with salt & pepper hair and a full beard that was neatly trimmed.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Smithville Police Dept. at (816) 532-0500.
The department has said anyone who may be concerned if they are being stopped by an actual law enforcement official should call 911 and dispatchers will be able to confirm if the car attempting to make the stop is actually a police vehicle.
