The Northwest Missouri State University men’s tennis team captured the 2016 MIAA Tournament title on Sunday with a win over Southwest Baptist 5-0 in Springfield.
No. 12 Northwest improved to 19-3 on the year with the victory while No. 18 SBU finishes with a 13-7 record.
This was the seventh year the MIAA has gone to a postseason tournament. The Bearcats have won all seven titles dating back to 2010. They’ve also won both the regular season and tournament titles each of the past seven seasons.
Northwest has secured the MIAA’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
