Medicare assistance session to be held in St. Joseph

MedicareA Medicare assistance course to tackle the ins and out of medicare will be held at St. Joseph Public Library branches.

John Vivian, a volunteer with CLAIM, the Missouri State Health Insurance program will be at the East Hills and Downtown branches on Tuesday, June 14th. Vivian will be at the East Hills Library, 502 N. Woodbine Road, from 9 am to noon. Then he’ll be at the Downtown Library, 927 Felix Street beginning 4 p.m.

Both events will begin with an overview of Medicare and then move on to answer individual questions.

Following the general overview, one-on-one sessions may be available depending on time or an individual session can be scheduled. CLAIM volunteers can help with:
General Medicare Questions
Enrollment and Billing
Medicare Prescription Drug Plans
Medigap and Supplemental Insurance
Long-Term Care planning and Insurance
Medicare Advantage Plans
Benefit Assistance programs to reduce Medicare costs
Appeals and Grievances
Explaining all parts of Medicare
