A St. Joseph man is facing a felony charge after allegedly pointing a loaded pistol at a woman and punching her in the face.

Michael Allen Leigh, 46 is charged in Buchanan County with a felony for unlawful use of a weapon. According to court documents on Saturday, Leigh is accused of pointing a loaded S&W 9mm semi automatic pistol at the victim and punching her in the face.

“The defendants blood alcohol level was .075,” said Det. Frank Till with the St. Joseph Police Department. “Approx 7.5 hours after this event.  There was a child present when he put a gun to the head of the victim in this case.”

Leigh is being held without bond.  An arraignment is set for Tuesday.
