A single-vehicle crash south of St Joseph early Wednesday morning sends a St. Joseph man to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Sutton Mattucks swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway along Route A shortly after midnight.
The Ford Ranger left the roadway, struck an embankment and went airborne. The vehicle rolled and went into a ditch.
Mattucks was transported to Mosaic Life Care for treatment. The injuries were described as serious at the scene of the crash, but a nursing supervisor at Mosaic says Mr. Mattucks was treated and released.
