The Missouri State Highway Patrol is already planning to hold special operations next month in Andrew County to try to prevent drinking-related crashes.
Sometime during the month of July, Troop H plans to hold a sobriety checkpoint and a DWI saturation in Andrew County. Capt. James E. McDonald, commanding officer said the areas selected are based on a high number of drinking-related crashes, high number of contacts with drivers who have been drinking, and officers’ input as to probable contact with DWI violators.
“Impaired driving poses a significant threat to motorists on Missouri’s roadways,” McDonald said. “One of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s highest priorities is removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver.”
