A Platte City man is dead after a single vehicle crash along I-435 near KCI.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 51-year-old William Kirkpatrick rammed his Chevy into a concrete bridge barrier at mile marker 30, just south and west of the interchange with I-29. The crash happened at 5:22 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim was transported to North Kansas City Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
