Crews work to clean up after Wednesday morning storms

Crews are working to clean up trees and get power restored after a severe thunderstorm came through the St. Joseph area late Wednesday morning.

At least 2,400 power outages were reported according to KCP&L’s online outage map. As of 1:25 p.m., less than 500 people were reporting outages. There are multiple reports of trees down around town.

The National Weather Service was having issues getting warnings out due to a software glitch as storms pushed through the area. Storm warnings included the potential for 70 mph winds, hail and damage to trees.
