Olathe police say a 6-year-old boy taken by his father yesterday has been found safe in the Platte City area. The Kansas Bureau of Investigations asked for the public’s help several hours after a disturbance in which the father reportedly threatened to do himself harm, and then took off with the young boy.

Officials said in a news release Friday morning that the boy was taken, “under duress,” by his father, after “a violent incident”. The father was also found along with his son.
