Floyd H. Sanner
1952-2016

Floyd H. Sanner, 85, of Hamlin, died Tuesday afternoon, August 16, 2016, at the Sabetha Manor where he had been a resident since 2014.
Floyd was born in Brown County, June 9, 1931, the eldest of two sons born to Virgil and Ethel Hollabaugh Sanner and had lived in the Hamlin-Morrill-Sabetha communities his entire life. He attended country school near Sycamore Springs prior to graduating from Morrill High School. After the death of his parents, Floyd helped the area farmers with their needs on the farm. He was a pleasant person to be around and never had a harsh word to say about anyone.
Survivors include a sister in law Barbara Sanner of Hamlin; two nephews: Gary Sanner and Kurt Sanner, both of Hamlin; and numerous cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Herbert.
Cremation is planned is with graveside inurnment planned at the Sabetha Cemetery date pending.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice, which may be sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha 66434.

Doris Darlene Kessberger
1928-2016

Kessberger, Doris. obitphotoDoris Darlene Kessberger, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care.
She was born December 15, 1928 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Doris married Robert Young and together they had two children and were later divorced. She married Edward Kessberger who passed away in 1993.
She was a graduate of Central High School class of 1948. She worked as an office manager for New York Life for many years.
Doris was a member of Sodance, Savannah Sashayers club, American Business Women’s Association past president, and Brookdale Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed dancing, getting her family together and spending time with one another.
She was also preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Anderson and Pearl Hardwicke who helped raise her; brother, Conlee Gibson; and sister, Leota Collor.
Survivors include sons, Robert Young, St. Joseph, Missouri and Dennis R. Young (Donna), St. Joseph, Missouri; companion of 20 years, Walter Ashler; grandsons, Jason Deffenbaugh (Jamie) and Kelly Young (Kiley); great-grandchildren, Hailey and Blake Deffenbaugh, Caroline and Jayce Young and Darren, Dakota, and Cheyenne Ashler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
