St. Joseph to hold Cylcing classes

St Joe Health DepartmentThe City of St. Joseph Health Department is offering a free bicycling skills course starting next week.

“Smart Cycling” will be held Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 24, 31 and Sept. 7.  Classes will be held at Bode Ice Arena located at 2500 Southwest Parkway.

During the course bicyclists will be taught bike handling skills and rules of the road.  The course is mostly geared for adults but is open to those 12 and older with parent or guardian permission.  Preregistration is required and can be done by calling (816) 236-1491.

The City said participants who make it to all three sessions will be eligible to win a helmet, bike lock and lights.
