Ruth Ann Kneisel
1941-2016
Robinson, KS Ruth Ann Kneisel, 75 of Robinson, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Monday afternoon August 22, 2016 at Maple Heights Care Center where she had been a short term resident.
Ruth was born in Robinson Kansas July 19, 1941, one of four children born to Roy M. and Luverne Glenn. Ruth was raised on the family farm, attended elementary school in a single room schoolhouse near the family home and graduated from Robinson High School in 1959.
She married Thomas E. Rolfe in August of 1959 in Robinson. They resided in Robinson, Mayetta, Topeka and settled on a small farm outside of Hoyt. There they raised two children, were active in the surrounding community, enjoyed the company of friends and neighbors and the labors of life on the farm. They separated and divorced in 1975. Ruth later remarried to the late Richard Kneisel in 1983, divorcing in 1991 and spent many of her remaining years with friend and companion Carroll Huss.
Ruth worked at Garment Factory in Holton and Chiropractic Office in Topeka prior to returning to Robinson to be closer to her family. She worked as a production foreman at Flair-Fold Industries in Hiawatha, and later accepted a position with the Kansas Department of Transportation where she worked as a Motor Carrier Inspector until her retirement in 1983.
Although small in stature she was known for her large personality, exclaiming that her height stood at 5 foot and ½ inch. Ruth was a “spitfire” quickly letting others know how she felt about matters, but also possessed a kind and caring nature that led her to assist and care for others that were in need and less fortunate.
She found happiness in attending a variety of country music shows with her sister Madeline and various shopping outings with her daughter, sisters and numerous nieces. She enjoyed the simple pleasure of spending time with her sisters, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a fabulous cook and took silent pride in preparing, packaging and sending homemade treats to our troops overseas for over twenty years.
Survivors include her children: Melanie Mears and husband Dennis, Anthony Rolfe and wife Andi of Robinson, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren and friend Carroll Huss. Also surviving is a sister Reta Taylor and husband David, also of Robinson. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Madeline and Katherine.
A Celebration of Ruth’s life is planned for 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 26 at the Robinson United Methodist Church. Pastor Paul Waters will officiate; interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Robinson, KS.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Thursday. Family and friends are encouraged to attend a remembrance of life that will be held August 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Rose Hill Cemetery which may be sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha 66434.
Michael F. “Mike” Anderson
1960-2016
Michael F. Anderson, 55, Atchison, Kansas, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, Aug. 25, from 6-7:30 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Andrew J. Somora Foundation and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final arrangements have been entrusted.
Mike was born on November 30, 1960 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Joseph and Mildred (Thompson) Anderson. He graduated from Midway High School, Denton, Kansas.
He and the former Lela “Itsy” Gwartney were united in marriage on September 18, 1993 at the Rushville Christian Church.
Mike was a utility operator at Midwest Grain Products in Atchison for sixteen years. He enjoyed golfing and being on the family farm. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. He was a North Carolina Tar Heels basketball fan; he previously coached basketball at ACES for three years. In his spare time he did carpentry and roofing work.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lela “Itsy” Anderson, of the couple’s home in Atchison, a son, John Carl Anderson, Atchison, KS, a daughter, Rachel Dexter, Horton, KS, three brothers, Joe R. (Jovita) Anderson, Atchison, KS, Jerry (Charlotte) Anderson, Troy, KS, Jeff (Andy) Anderson, Atchison, KS, a sister, Lisa (Tim) Smith, Wathena, KS, and five grandchildren, Ryleigh, Emily, Kloe, Adyson, and Zoey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Donald F. “Don” Eiman
1927-2016
Donald F. “Don” Eiman, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at a local healthcare facility.
He was born March 30, 1927 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Don lived a simple life and worked on the family dairy farm. After retiring, he lived at Vintage Gardens and later at Living Community. He was a previous member of Zion United Church of Christ and later attended Hope United Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Bertha (Stoos) Eiman; sister, Arlene Kemp; and brother, Louis Eiman, Jr.
Survivors include brother, Bill Eiman (Dorothy), Fort Collins, Colorado; sister-in-law, Suzanne Eiman, St. Joseph, Missouri; nephew, Steve Eiman (Barb); nieces, Susan Stroh (Tim) and Brenda Wickstrom (Todd); and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and extended family and friends from Vintage Gardens.

James B. Stoneburner, Jr.

James B. “J.B.” “Jim” Stoneburner, Jr., 61, Maysville, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care.
He was born November 18, 1954 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
J.B. married Patricia “Patti” Bachman on January 25, 1975.
He was a graduate of Lafayette High School Class of 1973 then graduated from Missouri Western State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and minoring in Accounting. J.B. worked at Mead Products for 30 years and later worked for the State of Missouri until his passing.
He was a member of the Stanford Who’s Who and his family was most important to him. J.B. enjoyed reading after graduating college, gardening, woodworking and the outdoors. He loved attending his grandkids’ activities and was honored to play TAPS with his son Jamie at the local cemeteries during the Memorial Day holiday.
J.B. had a very unique sense of humor and as he would say, Mmmmmm bye…until we meet again.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Nellie (Wood) Stoneburner; and sister, Mary Kay Wood.
Survivors include wife of 41 years, Patti; son, James “Jamie” Stoneburner (Heather), Independence, Missouri; daughter, Trisha Archdekin (Rob), Maysville, Missouri; five grandchildren, A.J., Lailah, Madison, Hadley and Teghan; brother, Dennis Pepper (Janis), Commerce, Texas; dear friend, Cindy Allen; two miniature dachshunds, Bleu and Dach; his favorite saying daily to his wife and pups, I don’t like you, because I Love You; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Helen M. Edgar

Helen M. Edgar, 76, Atchison, Kansas died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 29, 2016 at 8:15 A.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at 10:00 A.M. at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Animal Clinic and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Helen was born February 23, 1940 in Valentine, Nebraska the daughter of Howard T. and Mary L. Thomas Collins. She attended District #18 school in Leavenworth, Kansas. She attended and graduated from Callahans School of Hair Dressing in 1965.
Helen and Edwin Edgar were united in marriage on September 30, 1976 at the Atchison County Courthouse in Atchison. Mr. Edgar preceded her in death on June 12, 2008.
Helen was employed as a cosmetologist for many years. She also was employed at Atchison Senior Village Nursing Home for twenty years until her retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, Shannon N. (Anthony) McCurrie, Atchison, KS; Brenda Page, Colorado; a son, Roger (Gabby) Page Atchison, KS; a brother Patrick Collins, Leavenworth, KS; a sister, Billie Sue Collins-Gauger, Leavenworth, KS; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Lieberman in 2011; a brother, Bobby Collins in 1990 and a sister Arlene Smith in 2002.
