The Kansas City Royals win over the New York Yankees on Monday also marked the highest-rated telecast ever on FOX Sports Kansas City.

The telecast earned an 18.4 household rating/166,000 households in the Kansas City DMA according to Nielsen Media Research.

Facts and Figures
· The Royals on FSKC (18.4) beat Kansas City’s nine over-the-air TV stations combined (18.3) during the game (7-10:45 p.m.).
· Royals-Yankees peaked at a 22.3 rating/201,000 households from 9:30-9:45 p.m.
· The previous record, a 17.8, came June 1 vs. Tampa Bay. This is the 15th season of Royals baseball on FSKC.
· Royals’ local-market TV ratings rank No. 1 in MLB for the second straight season.
· The Royals have won eight of their last 10 and 18 of 22 to pull within two games of the second AL Wild Card and 5 ½ games of the AL Central lead.
· The Royals series against the Yankees continues tonight and tomorrow at Kauffman Stadium and on FSKC. The Detroit Tigers visit Kansas City this weekend, with Friday’s and Sunday’s games on FSKC and Saturday’s game a national telecast on FS1.
