St. Joseph police say they found no evidence of shots fired after receiving multiple reports early Wednesday.
Shortly before 6:30 a.m. Friday, people started calling police dispatchers to report hearing shots fired near South 15th Street and Edmond. Early reports indicated anywhere from six to 12 shots were fired.
An early investigation indicated a detached garage had been hit several times. But later, Captain Jeff Wilson said it looked like old damage. Capt. Wilson says no evidence was located of any gunfire.
“Officers originally thought they located a detached garage that had been shot into,” Wilson said in an E-mail to reporters, “but after investigating determined it looked like old damage. No evidence of shots fired was located.”
