The St. Joseph Police Department urges motorists to avoid the South Belt Highway and Mitchell Avenue area due to a vehicle crash.

According to a Nixle alert from the department at 10:10 a.m., some roads are closed in the area. A vehicle crash nearby has closed one lane northbound on the Belt and both westbound lanes of Mitchell and will require a detour until the roadway can be cleared.
