Wet pavement is blamed for a single-vehicle crash in Dekalb County Wednesday morning that sent a St. Joseph man to the hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 26-year-old Darius Finnell lost control of his vehicle on U.S. Highway 36 west of Osborn shortly after 4 a.m.

The Ford Fusion hydroplaned off the roadway and hit a tree.

Finnell was transported to Mosaic Life Care for treatment of moderate injuries.
