Fog is blamed for a crash in southwestern Kansas Saturday morning that claimed the life of a Great Bend man.

The Kansas Highway Patrol crash report says the accident happened along US Highway 54 in Liberal, Kansas at 5:12 a.m. Saturday. According to the report, a vehicle slowed down to turn left in the fog.

Ramiro Palacio-Castillo failed to see the turning vehicle and crashed into it from the rear. He was killed in the crash.

The other driver, Angel Ricardo Garcia Velazquez, was treated for possible injuries at Southwest Medical Center.
