Stella Elizabeth Cable

Stella Elizabeth Cable, 63, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at a Saint Joseph health care center. She was born April 26, 1953 in Missouri City, Missouri daughter of the late Ruby & David Jones. She graduated from Excelsior Springs High School, and she worked as a School Bus Driver for Mid Buchanan School, and she was a Homemaker. She liked to crochet and cross stitch, and enjoyed being out on the farm. She had a helper’s heart and enjoyed helping other people. She was a member of the DeKalb Christian Church. Stella was preceded in death by husband, Larry Cable, and her parents. Survivors include daughter, Sabrina Cable of Faucett, MO, two sons, Robbie Cable of Faucett, MO. and Michael Cable of Raytown, MO, granddaughter, Gracie Cable, and a brother, Lloyd Jones. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the DeKalb Christian Church, DeKalb, MO. with a Memorial Service to be conducted at 7:00 PM. John “J.T.” Tilford Downing
1925-2016
John Tilford (J.T.) Downing, age 91, of St. Joseph, formerly a long-time resident of DeKalb, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016, with family at his side. J.T. was born on May 21, 1925 and was a graduate of DeKalb High School. He married Betty (Barton) Downing on August 8, 1948. They had a long, loving marriage of 67 years. The couple lived in DeKalb where they raised their two daughters, Dona and Darla. J.T. was a hard-working, loyal employee. He worked as the Receiving Manager at Sears for 35 years before retiring in 1987. J.T. was a man who enjoyed meeting new people. His quick wit and warm personality helped him make friends everywhere he went. J.T. had a tender heart. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, mushroom hunting, and gardening. J.T. is survived by: daughter, Dona(Richard) McAndrews , of St. Joseph; daughter, Darla (Roger) Dusing of Liberty, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Justin McAndrews (Megan), of St. Joseph, Missouri, Megan (Allen) Bright of Liberty, Missouri, Ryan Dusing, of Gladstone, Missouri, Erin (Justin) Nissen, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Katie McAndrews, of Emporia, Kansas; and three great-grandchildren, Emma and Matthew Bright, and Kamdyn. He is also survived by his brother Tom (Bonnie) Downing and sister LulaBelle (Jimmy) Matthews, all of DeKalb, Missouri. J.T. was preceded in death by his wife, his parents John T. and Addie (Frakes) Downing, brothers Bill Downing and Mack Downing, sisters Lola Downing, Helen Bush, and Mary Jo Downing. Funeral services will be conducted 10 AM Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the Rupp Funeral Home, the family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. The interment will be at Westlawn Cemetery, DeKalb, MO. Memorials are requested to the DeKalb Homecoming Association, or to the Interservice Meals on Wheels Program both in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
David A. Stufflebean Sr.
1952-2016
David A. Stufflebean Sr., 64, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday September 15, 2016 at a local healthcare facility.
He was born June 19, 1952 in Saint Joseph, Missouri.
David married Rhonda Sherrill August 2, 1974.
He was a graduate of Benton High School Class of 1970 and enjoyed duck hunting and fishing on the river.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Shirley (Kerns) Stufflebean; wife, Rhonda (Sherrill) Stufflebean; and one brother, Steve Stufflebean.
Survivors include son, David Stufflebean, Jr. (Mary J.); and grandchildren, Laney Stufflebean, Drayton Lykins and Rylee Rocha.

Dennis W. “Mac” McDaniel
1962-2016
Dennis W. “Mac” McDaniel, 54, of Netawaka, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.
He was born August 30, 1962 at Holton, the son of Robert and Susan Woodall McDaniel. He graduated from Wetmore High School in 1980.
Mac worked as a concrete finisher and later at the Wetmore school as a custodian.
He was a member of Kansas ABATE 11 and a past president of the Wetmore Men’s Club.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Betty McDaniel, Stark City, MO; and Susan and Jerry Mencl, Holton; one brother, Jeff McDaniel and wife, Kathy, Tecumseh; one sister, Pam Hossfeld and husband, Perry, Powell, OH; two step-brothers, Rodney and Scott Nightingale; a step-sister, Janet Hinrichsen; his aunt, Linda Ireland, Topeka; other family members, many brothers and sisters of the road, and his chihuahua companion, Fred.
His smile and chuckle will remain in our minds and hearts forever. Giving more than he took.
Cremation is planned. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. A Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 29th at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in the Wetmore Cemetery. Another Celebration of Mac’s life will be Saturday, October 1st at the old schoolhouse north of Whiting, starting at 4:00 p.m. For those attending the services, Harley Davidson attire is encouraged. Rolland Leon Mace
1934-2016
Rolland “Bill” Leon Mace, 82, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 in a Saint Joseph, MO hospital. He was born July 15, 1934 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Lorene and Homer Mace. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of Bill’s Transmission Shop. He was a member of the VFW Post 6760. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patricia Mace, and two brothers, Homer and Dennis Mace. Survivors include 5 children: Terri (Steve) Meade of Faucett, MO, Rolland “Rusty” Mace, Virginia (Darrell) Schildknecht of King City, MO, Jeff Mace of Kansas City, MO, and Kelly Mace, 3 step-children: Teresa McDowell, Jimmy Caldwell, and Joe Caldwell, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a brother, Gary Mace.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 Tuesday at the Rupp Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The interment with Military Honors will be at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
