(Update) One seriously injured after multiple crashes involving cattle on US 36

MSHP purpleA rollover crash involving a cattle truck caused two more accidents near Osborn Friday morning. One of those subsequent crashes caused serious injuries.

The Missouri State Highway crash report says Gary Bowling of London, Kentucky lost control of his semi hauling cattle along U.S. Highway 36 near the Osborn Junction at about 4am.

The semi left the highway, hit a ditch, and overturned, freeing several cattle. Bowling suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to the crash report. He was taken by ambulance to Mosaic Life Care for treatment.

About twenty minutes later, a Winston, Missouri woman driving a box truck rammed into one of the cattle. Investigators say Bonnie Bridgeman, 68, suffered serious injuries in that crash. Ms Bridgeman was flown to the K.U. Medical Center for treatment.

A few minutes after the second crash, a third motorist hit a cow. Jesse Crockett, 43, of Cameron, suffered minor injuries in that crash. Crockett refused medical treatment at the scene.

The accidents partially blocked westbound traffic on 36 Highway for several hours.
