An annual Fall Book sale will give area participants a chance to save money and add to their shelves.

The Friends of the Library will hold their annual Fall Book Sale Thursday at the East Hills Mall.

Mary Beth Revels is the Director of the St. Joseph Public Library. She said the sale offers a lot of variety.

“Books for adults, kids, teens, we have mystery books, we have cookbooks we have history books,” Revels said. “You name it, we’ve got it. We’ve got DVDs, we have videos, we have a few audio books. There’s just a great variety of material there.”

The sale starts on Thursday at 3 p.m., but Revels said there’s a way to beat the crowd by joining the Friends of the Library, even on sale day.

“The sale actually opens at two o’clock for Friends members, so if anybody wants to get a little jump on the book sale, they can join the Friends of the Library, and shop a little bit early,” she said.

The sale opens to the public at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, and will be open until 9 p.m. near the carousel at the East Hills Mall. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, they will be open during regular mall hours. Monday is the last day of the sale, and they will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Revels said Monday also features the “Bag and Box Sale.”

“You can fill a nice sized box for six dollars or a bag for three dollars,” Revels said. “It’s the last day of the sale and a great day for wonderful bargains.”

The tables will be staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library, with library staff overseeing the operation.
