A 22-year-old Wichita, Kansas man is accused of murder after allegedly shooting another man in connection with a road rage incident.

Bobby T. Crumpton was charged with second degree murder for shooting Clinton Alsobrook, 35, of Charlotte, Texas on October 14 on the exit ramp from eastbound 152 Highway to northbound I-29.

Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd said the charges were filed on October 15 following an investigation by the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

According to court documents, Crumpton was driving a 2012 Chrysler 300 and Alsobrook was driving a maroon SUV. Passengers in either vehicle described the other vehicle as driving aggressively and erratically.

The vehicles made contact on the exit ramp and came to a stop. Crumpton then allegedly got out of his vehicle and fired several shots from a handgun into the maroon SUV. Bullets struck Alsobrook in the left leg and the head near his left temple, killing him.

Alsobrook and the passenger in his vehicle were not armed.

Crumpton is being held on a $100,000 cash bond. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
