A collision between a pickup and a horse-drawn carriage near Albany Wednesday morning sent a Gentry, Missouri man to the hospital. A crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says 24-year-old Matt Christian was driving the carriage when a pickup smashed into the rear of his carriage.

The accident happened at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday along U.S. Highway 169 five miles west of Albany. Both vehicles were totaled according to the crash report.

Christian suffered serious injuries and was transported to Northwest Medical Center in Albany. The other driver was not injured. He was identified in the crash report as 41-year-old Christopher Fritzel of Gentry.
