A very high fire danger exists for eastern Kansas and western Missouri today and then again on Saturday due to dry conditions combined with gusty winds. Therefore, it is encouraged to avoid outdoor burning, to properly extinguish cigarette butts, and use caution with any open flames, such as when grilling or barbecuing.
