Speeding motorist required to pay for tire repair after being stopped with spike strips

Livingston County Sheriff's Office PatchA motorist from Omaha will have to pay for tire repairs and impound fees after getting caught speeding through Livingston County in a rental car.

Sheriff Steve Cox says a deputy clocked a motorist driving 112 miles per hour in a 65-miles-per-hour zone on Saturday. Cox says the driver refused to stop for Deputy Leadbetter.

With the help of Chillicothe Police, the vehicle was stopped with spike strips on U.S. Highway 36 near U.S. Highway 65. Cox identified the driver as Gilbert S. O. Folligan, 44, of Omaha, Nebraska.

Folligan posted bail and was released with citations for speeding, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and no valid drivers license. Cox says Folligan was advised where his renatal car was located, and that he was responsible for the impound and tire-repair fees. He’s due in court June 21.
