Man held without bail after allegedly attacking woman in her home

A St. Joe man is being held without bail after allegedly attacking a woman in her bedroom last week.

Lorenzo Lucas was arrested on Friday and a judge denied bail. According to court documents, Lucas is accused of attacking the victim in her home on North 36th St. June 1.

The affidavit asserts the defendant “…pulled the victm out of bed by the hair and punched her in the face several times.”

“Lorenzo choked the victim and threatened to shoot her in the head with a silver 9mm pistol if she tried to leave the bedroom,” according to the affidavit. Police say the victim suffered serious injuries, and was diagnosed with a broken nose and fractured cheek.

Lucas is scheduled to appear before Associate Circuit Judge Rebecca Spencer on Tuesday, June 6, at 8:15am. He is charged with second degree domestic assault, a class-d felony.
