Sunny with temps in the 80s

Slightly cooler temperatures will prevail today with most areas seeing highs in the 80s for the first time in ten days. Temperatures will rise back into the 90s Tuesday and Wednesday before another round of storms moves through Wednesday night. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 86. East northeast wind around 6 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 68. East southeast wind around 6 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 100. South southeast wind 5 to 7 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 74. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph.

Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 92. South wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 84.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 63.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 85.
