Man injured in weekend shooting

Police are investigating a shooting early Sunday morning.

According to Sgt. Steve McClintick with the St. Joseph Police Department, the shooting in the 200 block of Michigan Avenue was reported shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday. McClintick said the shooting stemmed from a dispute over property. A man in his 30s was shot in the arm and upper thigh. He was transported to the hospital with what McClintick said appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting suspect fled the scene but McClintick said three people at the scene when officers arrived were taken into custody on charges unrelated to the shooting.
