(Update) – The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance investigating an ‘officer-involved’ shooting incident that took place Friday in Chillicothe.
According to Sheriff Steve Cox, the incident involved a Chillicothe Police Department officer in Chillicothe on Friday evening. Cox said he has requested the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control investigate the incident.
“We also asked Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren to give the same consideration and request,” Cox said.
According to the Chillicothe Police Department, Friday around 6:22 p.m. officers tried to serve a warrant in the 1100 block of Broadway St. Shots were reportedly fired during the attempted arrest. Police said a standoff ensued and the person was eventually arrested.
Sheriff Cox said no one was seriously injured. He said at this point in time no additional public information is available.
