Tina Marie Gill 55, of Saint Joseph, Missouri died Tuesday September 19, 2017. She was born December 30, 1961 in St. Joseph, Missouri daughter of the late Sharon & Robert Kunzler. She graduated Benton High School, and was a homemaker. Survivors include husband, Charles Gill of the home, daughter, Lacey Gill, grandchildren, Sophia and Joseph, brothers, Scott and Carl Kunzler, sisters, Debbie Kunzler, Tammy Damgar, and Tracy Roberts. She will be cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Tina Gill Memorial Fund in care of Rupp Funeral Home.
Shelly Jean Athay
1968-2017
Shelly Jean Athay, 49, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at her home.
She was born January 16, 1968 to William and Mary (Borden) Athay. Shelly enjoyed walking, cooking, and baking and loved animals.
She fought a courageous battle for the past eight years with Stiff Person Syndrome, an auto-immune disease.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Alfred and Irene Borden.
Survivors include her mother, Mary (Ruth) Athay; sister, Kelly Jo Chaney; nephews, Preston, Brandon and Alex Chaney, Scott Huff, Scott and Chris Borden.

Agnes Leahy
1940-2017
Agnes F. Leahy, 77 of Atchison, KS, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at her home.
Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Atchison, KS, with Rev. Dinah Dutta officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church. Agnes was born on March 24, 1940 in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Alvin and Florence (Patterson) Thomas. She graduated from Atchison High School 1958. Agnes worked for USD 409 in food services and also was a Para for preschool at the Atchison YMCA. She was lifetime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, having served on Altar Guild and WELCA. Agnes was also a member of Retired School Personnel. She enjoyed cooking and going to Coffee Club every Wednesday.
Agnes married Lawrence L. Leahy in September of 1963; he preceded her in death in 1990. Survivors include a daughter; Lynnette and Scott Shannon, Fairway, KS, a son, Shawn Leahy, Atchison, KS, and a sister Alice and Jim Murray, Atchison, KS.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Lawrence Leahy and an infant daughter, Theresa Leahy.
Monty Ray Sellers
1968-2017
Monty Ray Sellers was born August 5, 1968, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Pebel Odelia Sellers.
Monty was known for his love of music and movies, and his friends knew they could always go to him with any questions they had with movie or music trivia.
After high school, Monty enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Somalia, Korea, and Operation Desert Storm. He served from November 18, 1986 until he was honorably discharged on April 25, 1994.
Monty worked for 12 years at the Hiawatha Community Hospital and enjoyed bringing joy to the patients that he encountered while he worked there. He also enjoyed DJ’ing and was the owner of Mo and T DJ Service, serving many weddings and school dances.
Monty passed away on September 11, 2017, leaving behind his wife Teresa Sellers and sons, Liam Sellers, Gage Sellers, and step-daughters Cortney Joslin, Desiree Herling, and Katelyn Herling.
A memorial service is planned for Sunday, September 24th, from 2-4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, at 210 Lodge Road in Hiawatha, Kansas. Family and friends are invited to bring stories and memories of Monty to the service.
Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers, and can be sent to Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha, who is assisting the family.
Hubert “Hank” Henry Macier Jr.
1929-2017
Hubert “Hank” Henry Macier Jr. 88, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday September 21, 2017. He was born February 20, 1929 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska son of the late Hazel & Hubert Macier. He graduated from Central high school, and served in the United States Marine Corp and is a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a Truck Driver for Leonard Brothers Trucking and retired from the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed woodworking, loved yard work, and was very involved with his grandchildrens activities. Hank was a member of Scottish Rite, and the Moila Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Margaret Louise Macier. He is survived by daughter, Denise (Chuck) Sims, Saint Joseph, grandchildren, Joshua, Alison, Amanda Sims, cousins, Jeff and Hot Rod Drennen, nieces, Patricia (Tom) Ashlock, St. Joseph, MO, and Gigi Binnicker, Kansas City, MO, his special caregiver, Samantha Brown, as well as several other cousins. Mr. Macier has bequeathed his body to science, there will be a graveside inurnment service at the Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. Services under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.
John E. Kessler, Sr.
1942-2017
John E. Kessler, Sr., 75, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday September 20, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 9, 1942 in Buchanan County, MO to Raymond and Gertrude (Till) Kessler.
John married Brigitte Raciborski July 21, 1962, she survives of the home.
He was owner and operator of Kessler Sales. John was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church and St. Joseph Boat and Yacht Club.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, antique cars, and most of all telling stories.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
Additional survivors include children, Julie Capoot (Steve), Patty Bullimore (John), Donna Bullimore (Joe) and John Kessler (Marites); 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Kessler (Charlene); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wanda “Aunt” Beth Davis
1925-2017
Wanda “Aunt Beth” Davis, 92, Maryville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Maryville Living Center..
She was born July 25, 1925, to Martin Hurvey Weston and Ora Frances Burchett in Graham, Missouri.
Wanda was a graduate of the 1943 class at Graham High School.
She married Robert Turner Davis on October 24, 1946. They were married over seventy years.
Many people remember Aunt Beth from the children’s ministry she and Uncle Bob conducted for over forty years. They began their ministry at the Maryville Assembly of God, where they served for several years. Then in 1963 they moved to Miami, Florida where they served as Children’s Pastors on staff at Central Bible Church for 18 years. During that time they also traveled around the USA and to the Bahama Islands, conducting kids crusades and camps. After returning to Missouri they served as children’s pastors at Maitland Christian Church for several years.
Wanda was a member of the Maitland Christian Church.
She enjoyed crafts and made many of the visual aids they used in children’s ministry.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, James (wife, Bonnie) of Maryville; a daughter, Terry Morris (husband, Jerry) of Broken Arrow, OK; six grandsons, Joseph, Robert, Mark, Michael, Madison and Matthew, fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Marcine Blume.
