Two injured in one vehicle crash

A 13-year-old driver was injured in a one vehicle crash Sunday in Holt County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 13-year-old was driving a Chevy Impala east on Missouri 111 about two miles west of Craig around 5:30 p.m. The Impala traveled off the road, the driver overcorrected the vehicle, which traveled back on the road, skidded, went back off the road, hit an embankment and overturned onto the driver’s side.

A passenger, 50-year-old Tierra L. Rails of Craig was transported by Atchison-Holt EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment of serious injuries. The teenager was taken by private vehicle to Mosaic for treatment of moderate injuries.

According to the crash report, the driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts.
