Second Harvest asking for help in funding contest

The Second Harvest Community Food Bank is asking the community for assistance in a contest.

According to the food bank’s Facebook Page, the agency has a video that is currently in a contest to win $25,000 through the Starbuck’s Upstanders Challenge. The agency is asking the public for help to like and share the video. Second Harvest said last week that it needs to get over 120,00 likes in the next few days.

Chief Development Officer at Second Harvest Michelle Fagerstone said for votes to count in the contest, people must click on the video to go to a website to vote.

“If you just like the post it doesn’t count.. What we really need you to do is click on the big arrow that’s on the video and that then will take you to (the website),” Fagerstone said. “Down in the right hand corner is a little heart, and if you click it, it turns green and that’s like a vote for us.”

Fagerstone said the top 40 at the end of the month will be in the running for the $25,000 grants and they were in the top 20 as of Tuesday morning.
