A volunteer opportunity for families to help spread Christmas cheer takes place this weekend.
The St. Joseph Youth Alliance will be holding Family Volunteer Day on Saturday. Youth Alliance Executive Director Robin Hammond said families can come make holiday items for those in need.
“(It’s) an opportunity for parents and their children to come together here at Youth Alliance and give back to the community,” Hammond said. “They’re going to be doing some decorating of Christmas cookies and ornaments and such that will be given to some of the homeless shelters for people that are staying there.”
Family Volunteer Day takes place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at St. Joseph Youth Alliance located at 5223 Mitchell Avenue.
