Breezy with rain continuing throughout the day

Showers with perhaps an isolated embedded thunderstorm will affect the area today. The better chance for showers and greater rainfall totals will be along and south of Interstate 70 where a half to an inch of rain will be possible. As you head north of Interstate 70 toward to Missouri/Iowa border rain chances and amounts will decrease. Highs today will be in the mid 40s to near 50. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: A chance of showers, mainly before 5 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 50. Northeast wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers before 8 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 35. North northeast wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: A slight chance of rain and snow showers between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., then a slight chance of rain showers after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. North northwest wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 66.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45.

Friday: A chance of showers after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
