St. Joseph Police are investigating after a man was shot early Sunday morning.

According to police, the shooting was reported around 3 a.m. Sunday. A man in his mid-20s was in a vehicle at a stop sign when he was reportedly hit by a gunshot in the back. According to police, someone in the vehicle said they believe the incident happened in the area of 22nd and Seneca St.

The man was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

There are no suspects at this time.
