Troy, Kansas Anna Marie “Annie” Goss, 91, of Troy, Kansas passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha, Kansas.
Annie was born on December 17, 1926 in Tescott, Kansas to Joseph & Beulah (Richord) Gotti.
She was a Home Economics Teacher for Troy Schools for over 50years. Annie was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bendena, Kansas, 50 year member of the Eastern Star & K-State Alumni.
Anna married James B. Goss on November 23, 1950 in Salina, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John & Carl Gotti & a sister, Florence White.
Survivors: son, Timothy Goss (Kelley), Troy, Kansas.
Daughter, Julie Parks (Chris), Troy, Kansas.
Grandchildren, Andrew Goss, Joseph Parks & Abigail Parks

Billy Dale Paden
1930-2018
WATHENA, KANSAS – Billy Dale Paden, 88, of Wathena, Kansas passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
He was born March 25, 1930 in Elwood, KS to James and Cora (Sanderson) Paden.
Bill graduated from Elwood High School in 1949. He served in the Air Force, stationed in Texas during the Korean Conflict.
Bill married Dixie Forbes May 24th, 1952.
Bill and Dixie built a new home in Elwood in 1957 and lived there until 1971, when they moved to Wathena. While in Elwood they were faithful members of the Elwood Baptist Church. Bill also served on the Elwood City Council and was an Elwood Volunteer Fire Fighter.
He worked for Seitz (Lovers Lane) driving a truck for 25 years. In 1972 he built the Dairy Barn in Wathena, KS and ran the family business for 21 years. He also started The Blossom Shop flower shop, in Wathena, currently known as The Flower Peddler.
Bill and Dixie enjoyed traveling to Texas and Arizona in the winter months for many years after retirement. Bill was a doting husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather. Bill’s faith in God was strong and was evident in the life he lead. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Wathena serving as a deacon for many years. Bill was also a member of the American Legion Post 161 of Wathena. Over the years he enjoyed planting and tending flowers, bushes, and trees. Bill took great pride and pleasure in supporting family members at ballgames, graduations, weddings and various events. His family was his passion.
Bill was preceded in death by 3 infant brothers, Mother and Father, Brothers Willard Lee and Wes Paden, and by a Sister Doris Dishon.
Bill is survived by Dixie his wife, Children; Karen & Bill Ryser, Bryan & Jody Paden, Noel & Bob Halter. Linnie Jean Walter
1924-2018
WATHENA, KANSAS – Linnie (Roland) Walter, 93, of Wathena, Kansas died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at a St. Joseph, Missouri hospital.
Linnie was born on June 4, 1924 in Doniphan County, Kansas to Milam and Lily Mae (Blanton) Roland. She lived all of her life in Doniphan County.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wathena
Linnie married Frederick “Fritz” Walter on June 5, 1943 in Atchison, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2013. She was also preceded by her parents and siblings: Louis Roland, Beulah Dunham, Ida Schultz, Nina Walter, Ethel Pollard, Jr. Roland, Brady Roland, Carl “Buck” Roland and Ruth Anna Norris.
Survivors include: son, Fred Walter (Jeanette) of Murrieta, California;
Daughters: Linda Engemann (Geary) of Wathena;
Lisa Beran (Gerald) of Claflin, Kansas;
Sister, Maxine Smith of Lapine, Oregon;
12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joyce (Reed) Wolf, 63, St. Joseph, formerly of Dearborn, MO, died April 2, 2018 in St. Joseph. Born February 13, 1955 in St. Joseph. She attended North Platte Schools. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clint Wolf, Parents, Clay and Mildred “Niecie” Reed. Survivors: sons, Joey (Pam) Ballard of Edgerton, MO and Jason Derringer of St. Joseph, sister, Linda Lance of Tracy, MO, brother, Gary (Brenda) Reed, of Dearborn, MO and companion, Norman Butts. Donald “Donnie” R. Butrick
1932-2018
Donald “Donnie” R. Butrick AKA, Trail Hound, 85, of Hiawatha, Ks left this Earth to start his heavenly journey on April 5, 2018.
Donnie was one of nine children born to the late Ernest and Minnie (Raney) Butrick on the family farm west of White Cloud, KS, on September 29, 1932.
He attended Hill Top Grade School and Reserve High School.
On August 23, 1953 he married the love of his life, Rebecca A. Foster. To this union five children were born, William “Bill”, Zollie, Cynthia, Larry, and Peggy.
He worked for 20 years at Wilde Tool Co, 7 ½ years at United Rail in Atchison, and 17 years for Brown County Road Department District 1.
Donnie loved to hunt, fish, coyote hunt, and spending time with his family. He loved talking about his many adventures and could make anyone laugh with his stories. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren to the moon and back. He loved to garden.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 64 years, Becky of the home, sons; William (Joyce) Butrick of Hiawatha, Larry (Christy) Butrick of White Cloud, KS, daughter; Peggy ( Larry) Hanesworth of Falls City, NE, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and a sister; Darlene Rison.
He was preceded in death by daughters; Cynthia and Zollie, both of his parents, brothers; Tom, Gene, Alfred, Woodrow, Ernest (infancy), sisters; Luella, Margarite, a grandson; Dyllon Butrick, great grandson; Brock Wilcox and a great great granddaughter.
Memorial Services are planned for 11 AM Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Carwell Building 301 E. Iowa St. Hiawatha, KS 66434.

Hayven Elizabeth Genie’ Holcomb

Hayven Elizabeth Genie’ Holcomb, 8 months baby girl, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 unexpectedly at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. She was born July 13, 2017 at KU Medical Center. She is the daughter of Amanda and Trevor Holcomb of Elwood, KS. Hayven was known for her infectious smile and sassiness. She touched the lives of so many people, her story brought peace, hope, love and happiness to people near and far. Her strength was seen daily with every breath she took, and battle she conquered. Hayven will be missed not only by her family, but by her extended family created on her journey doing Gods work while her short time on earth. Hayven was preceded in death by maternal great grandfather, Robert Wilson, maternal great grandparents, Daisy & Gene Cress, and maternal great grandparents, Shirley & Jeff Hahn. Lloyd E. “Gene” Gibson
1937-2018
Lloyd E. “Gene” Gibson, 80 of Atchison, KS passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at his home.
Memorial service will be 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Cline officiating. Burial will follow at Round Mound Cemetery, Cummings, KS. Gene was born on October 18, 1937 in Coalmont CO, the son of Allen and Ora Mae (Mooney) Gibson. He graduated from Troy High School in 1955 and joined and served in the United State Air force. Gene worked for General Motors in KCK retiring in 1991. He was a member of the American Legion and American Rifle Association. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Gene married Sharon Thompson on September 1, 1957 in Atchison, KS, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons; Randy Gibson, Leavenworth, KS, Bradley Gibson, Atchison, KS, a sister, Kathleen Lee, Kansas City, MO, half brother James Lancaster, grandchildren, Joey, Jesse, Jake, Conner, David Gibson, one great grandchild, DaHara Gibson, and a great great grandchild, Kane Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Tamra Gibson, a sister Ilene Risso, and two half brothers, William and Ronald Lancaster.
William Junior Barnes
1930-2018
William “Bill” Junior Barnes 87, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at his home. He was born April 16, 1930 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Myrtle and Thay Barnes. He retired from Meade Products after 38 years of service, and he was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Bill was preceded in death by wife, Betty June Barnes, his parents, brothers, Buddy, John, Thaddeous, and Charles Barnes, sisters, Gladys Weiser, Alma, and Margaret Spreckelmeier. Survivors include, son, Doug Barnes (Darcy Vance) of St. Joseph, 2 grandchildren, Brandon Barnes, and Emily (John) Swanson, and a great grandchild, Kaylor Gray.
Funeral Services: 10:00 am Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Leanna VanZandt-Nauman, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Mount Auburn Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Immanuel Baptist Church.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Walter Jolly. Survivors include, mother. Roberta Mayse, aunt, Denise (Walter) Hughes, Saint Joseph, MO, brothers: Leaford Jones, Willis Jones, James Jones, Leon Culton, James Yokley, and Michael Yokley, sisters, Cortisa Culton, Carol King, and Bobbie Birch, as well as several other aunts, uncles and cousins, father Clyde Yokley, and mother Pamela Culton.
Funeral Services: 11:00 am Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Greater Jesus Tabernacle, Rev. Walter Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Greater Jesus Tabernacle. The Inurnment will be at the Ashland Cemetery at a later date.
