DENT COUNTY — One person died in an accident just before 4p.m. Saturday in Dent County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1994 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Shannon W. Williams, 44, Salem, was eastbound on Highway B four miles east of Highway 19.

The driver failed to negotiate a curve. The SUV traveled off the right sight of the road. The driver overcorrected. The SUV traveled off the right side again, struck an embankment, overturned and the driver was ejected.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
