(UPDATE 10:30 a.m.) Police have identified the two people involved in a crash on I-229 Sunday.

According to the St. Joseph Police Department, Darius Harris was killed in the crash. Evan Steele is in the hospital and was last known to be in critical condition.

One person is dead and another was seriously injured this weekend after an early morning crash.

According to the St. Joseph Police Department, the crash occurred on I-229 just south of East Lake Boulevard. Another motorist reported the single vehicle crash shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The vehicle rolled and both occupants were reportedly thrown out of the vehicle. One of the occupants was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
