Griffons’ Ong leads the MIAA Championships after round two; MWSU fourth as a team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Shi Qing Ong leads the MIAA Women’s Golf Championship with a two-day total of 154. Ong took the lead after she shot an even-par 72 in the second round. Missouri Western remained in fourth place with a 649 over the two rounds.

Tiffanie Yabut is tied for fifth place with a 160 after she carded a 79 on the second day. Tied for 10th place is Chong Yong with a two-day score of 162. Jenna Kosmatka finished inside the top-30 with a 173. Katie Irvin rounded out the MWSU scorecard with a 176.

Ong leads the individual field by a stroke heading into the last day. Northeastern State leads the team standings with a 636. Missouri Western tees off the final round from Swope Memorial Golf Course at 9:20 a.m.
