KEARNEY, Neb. – Missouri Western track and field student-athletes completed their first-ever MIAA Outdoor Championships with 14 school records, the first-ever podium finisher and three provisional marks.
DAY THREE NOTES
- Phil Thompson took third in the triple jump with the 10thbest jump in Division II this year, 15.54m (51′). It was good for an NCAA DII Provisional
- Graham Buresh took sixth in the men’s 400m with a 48.64
- Kelsey Cox took seventh in the 3,000m steeplechase with a 12:14.41
- The men’s 4x400m relay team of Jalen Pauley, Chris Stanley, Spencer Cooper and Graham Buresh took seventh with a school-record 3:18.19
- Sarah Krig took eighth in the women’s high jump, clearing 1.65m (5-5)
- Hanna Williams too eighth in the women’s 400m with a 56.59
- Maddison Roumph set the school record in women’s high jump with a 11.46m (37-7 )
- Megan Gillen broke the school 1,500m record with a 4:55.68, just missing a points finish in 9th
- Jordan Garr broke the school record in the hammer throw with a 48.01m (157-6) right after Dallas Thompson had broken it with a 44.12m (144-09)
- The women’s 4x400m relay team of Morgan Doyle, Maddison Roumph, Megan Gillen and Taylor Robinson broke the school record with a 4:05.32
- Kallin Sheppard had a personal-record 43.03m (137-11) in the women’s hammer throw
DAY TWO NOTES
- Jordan Garr took fifth in the shot put with a provisional and school-record 17.02m (55-10 )
- Taylor Robinson broke the school women’s 400m hurdle record with a 1:07.15
- Graham Buresh broke the school 400m record and qualified for the finals with a 48.48. He also broke the school 200m record with a 22.08
- Kallin Sheppard broke the school women’s shot put record with a 12.31m (40-4 )
- Hanna Williams qualified for the women’s 400m final
- Sarah Krig finished 10th in the women’s heptathlon with a school-record 4,193 points
DAY ONE NOTES
- Krig broke the school high jump record in the heptathlon, clearing 1.68m (5-6) and the school javelin record with a 34.8m (114-02)

The Griffons get another shot at qualifying for the NCAA Division II National Championships at the Missouri Southern Last Chance meet on May 12.
