KHP identifies Missouri man hit walking across Kansas highway

POTTAWAWOMIE COUNTY —The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the fatality victim in an early morning accident Friday in Pottawatomie County.

According to KHP a Chevrolet Silverado was eastbound on East Poyntz Avenue in the outside lane when the driver observed two people walking across the roadway. The driver hit his brakes and swerved missing one person. Another person did not move and was struck by the vehicle.

The pedestrian identified by KHP as George P. Lott, 56, Springfield, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene.
