SHANNON COUNTY — One person died in an accident just before 9:30p.m. Sunday in Shannon County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Toyota Tacoma driven by James E. Burmingham, 58, Winona, was northbound on Missouri 19, eight miles south of Winona.

The driver failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road.  The driver overcorrected, crossing the road. The truck overturned and ejected the driver.

Burmingham was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Clary Funeral Home. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
