(UPDATE 3:41 p.m. Tuesday) St. Joseph Police have taken a suspect into custody in reference to a fatal shooting Monday night.
According to Capt. Jeff Wilson, the incident is still under investigation. No other details are available at this time.

(UPDATE 9:51 a.m. Tuesday) – St. Joseph Police have identified the man killed in a shooting Monday night.
The shooting occurred in the 1000 block of Henry Street shortly before 6:30 p.m.
According to police, 29-year-old Mack D. Jenkins died from apparent gunshot wounds. A 23-year-old man was found in the same vehicle as Jenkins and was transported to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries from apparent gunshot wounds.
Capt. Jeff Wilson said there is no suspect in custody at this time and any information should be directed to the TIPS Hotline at (816) 238-TIPS.

A homicide investigation is underway after a shooting Monday night in St. Joseph.
According to the St. Joseph Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Henry Street shortly before 6:30 p.m. in reference to shots being fired and a crash. When officers arrived on scene, they found a vehicle had hit several parked cars and in the vehicle was one man who had died from apparent gunshot wounds. Another man, also in the vehicle had life-threatening injuries from apparent gunshot wounds and was transported to Mosaic Life Care for treatment.
Police say they are investigating the incident as a homicide. There is a possible suspect but no one is in custody yet.
