NODAWAY COUNTY — One person was injured in an accident just after midnight Wednesday in New Madrid County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by Jennifer R. Bates, 32, Maryville, was southbound on U.S. 71 three miles northwest of Maryville.

The driver lost control of the vehicle. It traveled up and over an embankment and struck a utility pole. Bates refused treatment at the scene.   She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
