Janet Kay Hamill (Ferris)
1962 – 2019

Janet Kay Hamill, 56 of Atchison KS, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at her home.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 22, 2019 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to help defray funeral costs and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Janet was born May 21, 1962 in Atchison, KS the daughter of Paul and Carol Jean (Martin) Ferris. She was a secretary for the Atchison Juvenile Correctional Facility and then Lansing Prison. Janet was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandbabies. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, scrapbooking and traveling.

Janet is survived by her significant other David Handke, Atchison, KS, two daughters, Carolina (Alonso) Mora, Leavenworth, KS, Jessica Warner, Atchison, KS, a brother John (Pam) Ferris, Eudora, KS, two sisters, Dana (Walt) Hare, Atchison, KS, Karen (Chuck) Gerhardt, Roger, AK, six grandbabes, Kaden, Nathaniel, Savannah, Isabella, Emma, Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son Stephen Paul Hamill.

 

Lisa Ann Beck
1960 – 2019

Lisa Ann Beck, 59, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019.
She was born February 2, 1960 in Houston, Texas.
Lisa was a member of Roc Fellowship Church.

She was co-founder of the Rebel Prayer Warriors in which she would post daily prayers on Facebook and pray for those in need. Lisa had a strong faith in the Lord and was a fighter that never gave up.
Lisa enjoyed listening to music, going on road-trips, crafts, plants, spending time with her family. Her greatest gift was being a Nana.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Gillespie.
Survivors include daughters, Andrea and Amanda McGovern (Brian); granddaughters, Brianna, Sabrina, Kendra and Kayla; mother, Wanda Broussard; brother, Marty Gillespie.

Danika Dream Bromley
December 17, 2018 – February 15, 2019

Danika Dream Bromley, 8 weeks old, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019, at Mosaic Life Care.

She was born December 17, 2018.

Danika was preceded in death by 2 grandparents; and 1 brother.

Survivors include her parents, Andrew Bromley and Corina Carr; 12 siblings; 2 grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles.

Farewell Services 3:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.

 

Mary Anna Johns
1923 – 2019

Mary Anna Johns, 95, Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019.

She was born September 13, 1923 in Napier, Missouri.

Mary Anna was a member of First Lutheran Church where she was baptized on April 29, 1924, confirmed in 1937 and also married in 1943. Mary Anna participated in Social Groups, Sunday School, Chancel Choir, Christian Service and Lutheran Church Women. The most important things in her life were her family, church and friends, all of which she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William R. Johns; parents, Robert and Anna (Frank) Poindexter; and her beloved dog, Lily.

Survivors include daughters, Kathryn Johns, Barbara Cooney and her husband, Mike; grandson, Christopher Huff; great-granddaughter, Teryn Huff.

Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Betty Clark
1923 – 2019

Betty Clark, 95, of St. Joseph, MO, died February 15, 2019, at Living Community in St. Joseph. Betty was born July 1, 1923 in Dodson, MO, to Alonzo and Bessie (Robinson) Ellis,

She was born in Dodson, but lived her life prior to retirement in Kansas City, MO. She married Thomas Clark and became a stay at home mother, before going to work for Wednesday Magazine. She lived in North Fort Myers , Florida for 15 years prior to moving to St. Joseph in 2007, to be with her daughter. Betty was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter Debbie Merritt; grandson Thomas Clark (April); great-grandchildren Mark and Abigail; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Mark, two infant sons, and eight siblings.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Services will be Friday, February 22, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services beginning at 12:00 noon on Friday.
