Missouri Western presents an unusual night out this weekend. The Music Department is presenting its 10th annual eXtreme Percussion show at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 6 and 7, in the Potter Hall Theater. Tickets are $6, or $4 for students with ID.
The high-energy show features Western percussion students on drum sets, steel drums, trash cans and other percussion instruments. The Western students will be joined by percussionists from Park Hill High School and Alford Music of St. Joseph.
eXtreme Percussion is directed by Dennis Rogers, professor of music and director of percussion studies, and sponsored by the Western Percussion Society, the Western Activities Council and the department of music. Proceeds benefit the percussion program.
