KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A man and his two children have died in a fire at their home in south Kansas City.

Kansas City fire officials say the fire early Wednesday killed a 31-year-old man, a 7-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy. Their names have not been released.

The man’s wife escaped the home and went with the 2-year-old to the hospital, where he died. The man and his daughter died at the scene.

Fire department spokesman Lew Perkins says fire was coming from every window when firefighters arrived.

Kansas City police are helping to determine the cause of the fire.
