Authorities at Fort Riley are investigating the unattended death of a 21-year-old Army Private found unresponsive in his barracks on May 14th. Pvt. Thomas Lavrey was a utilities equipment repairer from West Seneca, New York.

He joined the Army in March 2010 and was assigned to Fort Riley in Septenmber of that year. Lavrey was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Special Troops Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.
