ST. LOUIS (AP) — A 31-year-old St. Louis man is in custody and accused of torturing and killing five dogs.
The dead dogs were found earlier this month inside a vacant building. The suspect has not yet been charged.
Tipsters reported the man to the animal-rescue group Stray Rescue, which contacted police. The man was arrested Monday night.
Police and Stray Rescue were called to the vacant building on May 15 after a dead dog was seen dangling from a second-floor window.
Authorities found decomposing bodies of five adult pit bulls that had been tortured and mutilated.
