SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Authorities in southwestern Missouri are following a tip about a possible body at the home of a man who was shot to death by police.
Investigators are testing the contents of a trash can removed Wednesday outside a Springfield house. The home was the last known address of 37-year-old Adam Bergseth.
Bergseth was shot to death last Saturday by Marionville police in neighboring Lawrence County. Police said an officer responded to a call about a woman being held against her will.
Bergseth allegedly threatened the officer with a pair of scissors before the officer opened fire.
Springfield police aren’t commenting about the tip, except to say Marionville police advised them to check for a body at Bergseth’s last known address.
